What is it?
Interventional cardiology uses thin catheters introduced through an artery to visualise the coronary arteries and, when indicated, to restore blood flow.

- Pre-procedure clinical assessment
- Kidney function and coagulation review
- Review of current medications and allergies
Treatment pathways
- Diagnostic cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography
- Percutaneous coronary intervention when available and indicated
- Emergency coronary intervention pathways when available
