Electrocardiogram (ECG)

A quick, painless recording of the heart's electrical activity.

Indications
Chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, routine cardiac assessment.
Preparation
No special preparation is usually needed.
What to expect
Electrodes are placed on the chest, arms and legs for a few minutes.
Results & follow-up
Results are interpreted by the treating physician.

Echocardiography

Ultrasound imaging of heart structure, valves and pumping function.

Indications
Breathlessness, murmurs, heart failure, valve disease follow-up.
Preparation
Usually no preparation. Follow any instruction given by your physician.
What to expect
A probe with gel is moved over the chest while you lie on your side.
Results & follow-up
A report is issued after physician review.

Holter Monitoring

Continuous ECG recording over 24 hours or longer.

Indications
Intermittent palpitations, dizziness, suspected arrhythmia.
Preparation
Keep the device dry and continue usual daily activity.
What to expect
A small recorder is worn with adhesive electrodes.
Results & follow-up
Recording is analysed and reported by the cardiologist.

Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring

Automated blood pressure readings across a full day and night.

Indications
Suspected white-coat or masked hypertension, treatment assessment.
Preparation
Wear a loose-sleeved shirt and keep your usual routine.
What to expect
A cuff inflates at regular intervals during the day and night.
Results & follow-up
An averaged report supports diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Stress Testing

Assessment of the heart's response to controlled exercise.

Indications
Suspected coronary artery disease, exercise capacity assessment.
Preparation
Wear comfortable shoes. Ask your physician about medication and fasting instructions.
What to expect
You walk on a treadmill under continuous monitoring.
Results & follow-up
The supervising physician discusses findings with you.

Cardiac Laboratory Investigations

Blood tests supporting cardiac diagnosis and risk assessment.

Indications
Chest pain assessment, lipid profile, kidney function, diabetes screening.
Preparation
Some tests require fasting. Follow the instruction given with your request form.
What to expect
A blood sample is collected by trained staff.
Results & follow-up
Results are released according to the Centre's process.
